Hey wadia860... it's not that hard to hook the ball that much. Just get a good ball w/ like a 2-3 pin and some decent finger tips and there ya go. Not that hard.

I practise Bowling in Palermo(Italy).
This split it's impossible but all is possible. XD

I took out the 7-10 with my *first* shot once! Also made the 7-9 once by knocking the ball out of the pit.
The real test of split ability is the 5-10 or the 5-7, which should be hit 40 percent of the time by a pro.

a 5-10 or 5-7 should very rarely be left....and wouldnt a 4-10 or 6-7 be harder to pick up for a better test of ability?

I think it's funny that the commentator says "Hard and straight at the seven pin..." and then Stayrook throws a shot that really wasn't even that hard and wasn't totally straight. Great shot!

I lot of it is rotation as well. If you put a lot of spin on the ball it can but that into the pin and make it come back wierd. The normal way to get it is the Mark Roth way: Grip It and Rip it (he was doing that before John Daly :) )

I would say that, if there is a "textbook" way to convert this, it would be the way stayrook did it here. Roth was extremely fortunate to have the pin react the way it did when he converted it.

i got really lucky and converted a 7-10 split once, and i'm actually pretty bad at bowling. i hit it on the outside of the pin though

I almost made it the SAME way last week!
Thing is, the 7 pin hit the pindeck a bit too early and spun in front of the 10, just like Mike Mineman!

All they would receive is a patch that would say 7-10 split conversion. I used to be in a bowling league and that's all sanctioned bowlers got. A 300 game on TV is the only extra bonus I know of.

i almost converted a 4-7-10 split. the best split conversions are when you hit the very side of the pin
