I am glad you are ... ( 4 days ago by crazyredlion4500)
I am glad you are proud to be a British Citizen. But I must feel sorry for many other Brits as they have had many of their freedoms taken away. I live in Florida and I don't know where you got the idea that we shoot at tornados. I don't sleep with a gun under my pillow It's under the bed lol I did have to stick it in the face of a guy I caught breaking into my apartment at 3:00am. Thankfully the guy just ran away and I did not have to fire. My point is the world is not a utopia. even in Britain
This is very flawed ... ( 4 days ago by crazyredlion4500)
This is very flawed and one sided. The the right to bear arms was given to the American people to provide checks and balance in the government. Organized government attracts the kind of people who like (power) Power over the lives of other people. The founding fathers of this country knew this to be true. That is why the second amendment is so important. If you think you would be safer in a country with no guns THINK AGAIN. Don't believe me? Ask anyone from a communist country. I know a few.
That is a very ... ( 3 days ago by crazyredlion4500)
That is a very interesting point. I am going to check into that.
So you think ... ( 3 days ago by crazyredlion4500)
So you think removing guns from the hands of law abiding people would prevent hundreds of thousands of deaths Hmmmmm Interesting . You know Hitler ,Stalin and Idi Amin also shared that opinion. We all know how well that worked out. You need to turn this movie off and study the history of the world a little more.
That depends ... ( 3 days ago by crazyredlion4500)
That depends greatly on what state you are in. Now here in the funny thing. In America the states that have the strictest gun laws also seem to have the highest crime rates. New Jersey is big on gun laws. Many parts or that state like Camden it feel like you are in the third world. I live in Florida where people are given a lot more freedom with guns but we have a much lower crime rate. Strange is it not?
This is very true. ... ( 2 days ago by marriedwithchildrenn)
This is very true. It shows the american lack of logical thinking. Whoever said communism was bad was brainwashed by their drones in office. Communism had it's flaws, yes but many communist countries had very strict gun laws. Many of them were not allowed to produce firearms. In some former communist countries today there is still a ban on civilian arms. Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Slovenia, Albania, Kosovo, Bosnia still have bans on firearms for civilians. The crime rate is very low.
You can't shoot ... ( 2 days ago by SanarRyell)
You can't shoot someone if you don't have a gun. If I had a gun or two, god knows what I would've done at school to the bullies. Glad I didn't.
Damn.You can't deny ... ( 1 day ago by hnelsa)
Damn. You can't deny that everyday you have to be nervous and suspicious that if others would have a gun and open fire on you or people around you, especially after you argued sth. with someone!
America has one of ... ( 1 day ago by TreborNotron)
America has one of the highest gun ownership rates in the world.
It also has the highest gun-related deaths in the world.
I swear I'm seeing something here...
You shouldn't need a gun to defend yourself. The only situation where you should is if potential criminals have easy access to guns.
Oh, look at that! Well done America, quite a nice hole you've dug yourself there.
Your analogy is ... ( 1 day ago by TreborNotron)
Your analogy is flawed because Hitler and so forth have no relevance to the America situation.
You're giving your people guns, guns lead to death. Undeniable fact (look at the American gun-related death figures. Stageringly high).
These dictators, on the other hand, got into power and ruled through laws and armies.
'So you think removing guns from the hands of law abiding people would prevent hundreds of thousands of deaths?'
Well, yes. Try killing someone without easy access to a gun
Yes, this video, ... ( 1 day ago by TreborNotron)
Yes, this video, while being true, is sadeningly biased and that annoys me because it shouldn't need to be.
Now, the 2nd ammendment. Do you think a law passed to help people protect themselves during civil war has any relevance today?
The only threat you have is criminals.
Criminals with guns.
And where are the criminals getting their guns from?
The 2nd ammendment.
One massive ... ( 1 day ago by TreborNotron)
One massive complaint regarding the video, and it's strange since this is a video used in a massive movie.
Americans did not kidnap black people. The black people kidnapped the black people and sold them to the white people.
That part of the video is so biased towards the black people, it's rediculous. Both were to blame (except from the people being sold, of course).
Of course, I do not endorse slavery. It's just that the video uses too much misrepresentation at that point.
YES!!it has ... ( 1 day ago by crazyredlion4500)
YES!!it has relevance today! just as much today as it did back then. After Katrina many people used guns to protect their property from looting. Also you should know the 2nd amendment was passed at the birth of this nation not during the civil war. As far as criminals getting guns from the second amendment that is bullshit. No criminal would go into a gun shop and submit to a back ground check to get a gun to commit a crime. The cops would be banging on your door in about 5 minutes.
About 7 years ago ... ( 1 day ago by crazyredlion4500)
About 7 years ago in Osaka Japan a man walked into a Local preschool and killed five people and wounded three others. His weapon of choice was a kitchen knife.
Yes but you can ... ( 1 day ago by crazyredlion4500)
Yes but you can stab them , hit them with a baseball bat, run them down with a car ect. Point is that bad people will do bad thing regardless. People were killing each other on this planet long before firearms were invented. Getting rid of guns will not automatically create a utopia in fact very much the reverse.
I agree that it's ... ( 1 day ago by SanarRyell)
I agree that it's not going to create a Utopia, but I honestly doubt that stabbing an individual, hitting them with a baseball bat etc, is not going to add up to the level of casualties, let alone injured, that guns would create. Just look at Columbine and how 12 innocent students, plus one teacher were killed, and how many more were injured. If a jock or two were simply stabbed, I doubt it would be the same thing.
So you're telling ... ( 12 hours ago by TreborNotron)
So you're telling me that criminals have no way of getting guns? So how come there are so many people getting shot in America?
Well, of course, there's the possibility that they're stolen. And when you've got the 2nd ammendment making guns available to all Americans, there's a surplus of guns to go around.
Had you watched Bowling for Colimbine, you would've seen the director get a gun with no background check.
However you look at it, the 2nd ammendment makes guns over-available.
Quite a ... ( 12 hours ago by TreborNotron)
Quite a misrepresentative example, if I may say so. People commiting murders with everyday weapons is something very much in the minority.
On the other hand, America and its high gun ownership rate (I doubt even you can deny that) has 14.24 death per 100,000 that are gun-related.
14!!!!!!!
Even when I looked that fact up, I was shocked.
England has 0.41 per every 100,000. The English have a tiny gun ownership rate of 5.6 per 100 residents (compared to America's 90) and they have no problems.
Sorry, I run out of ... ( 12 hours ago by TreborNotron)
Sorry, I run out of room. By 'no', I mean completely minimal. On America's part, I'm hearing gun crime reports everywhere.
As with my other ... ( 12 hours ago by TreborNotron)
As with my other responce, I'd run out of room.
The director of Bowling for Columbine, Michael Moore, walks into a bank, makes a new account and is given a gun. Even when he asks about a background check, they say he's free to have the gun.
THAT is over availability.

Michael Moore is a ... ( 5 hours ago by crazyredlion4500)
Michael Moore is a self serving weasel that will say anything true or not if it will make money for him. I have never (NEVER) been able purchased a gun without a back ground check. That nonsense in the bank was a bald face lie. If you were so quick to believe that I just remembered I have a bridge in Brooklyn I need sell. I will let it go real cheap and I won't check your credit back ground.
