In Iraq, victory is a stable country that has a working democracy capable caring for its people and resisting foreign and domestic influences of radical Islam. Mostly the same in Afghanistan. We have accomplished some goals deposing the Taliban and Saddam, but both of those countries are on the edge. They are still leaning alot on Coalition Forces but they are also standing up in other areas. Liberating a country takes time. There are still US forces in Germany and that's a stablized country.

You mention a working democracy capable of caring for it's people, etc. Is a working democracy happening in America? Yes. Is our democracy reflected by the majority? No. Radical Islam? Where did that come from? What is radical? Forcing our beliefs and government on other countries, is that radical? Radical America? Yes. We have intruded and forced our ideals on a sovereign country for revenge on someone who has long been defeated. Where do we go after Iran is massacred?

Conquering a country is easy, but changing the ideals of a country takes time. Why are we still in Germany? Is Germany our ally? Do we trust Germany? If we had true allies, we would not need to keep the majority of our soldiers stationed overseas, unless it was for a show of force. We are doing the same in Saudi. Let no neighboring countries speak against us, because we WILL disuade them, either through politics or brute force. We have no right to do this. NONE

We, USA, are arrogant. We have a history of three hundred years of nothing but revolutions and wars. We try to force our ideals on countries with thousands of years of heritage.

The US has a working democracy, just nonfunctioning citizens. Less than 50% voted in the last presidential election. If people don't choose to participate, than they most be content with the status quo.
Radical Islam is what lead to 9/11 and continues the insurgency in Iraq. Alot of them are from other countries. I also don't view military dictatorship as an acceptable form of government. I guess you do. Iran is going to instigate a military response from the UN if they find the courage.

Are you a parrot? It is indeed going to take time. We are in Germany now because it is strategic, but right after the war it was about rebuilding. And it was about keeping the influence of E.Germany from turning W.Germany into an copy of its own oppressive regime. Sound familar? Since when has our presence in any country prevented other countries from speaking out against that country. It's often the source of ridicule. Right? I think we have a duty to prevent oppression anywhere.

Are you saying that a mass majority of Americans are nonfunctioning citizens? It is a fact that the mass do not vote, therefore the elected officials are voted in by the radicals. Radical Americanism is what led to millions of Saudi Arabian civilians, men, women and children, being killed, and what was thir crime? Being Islam? But sure, we will keep killing until they will give into our ideals. I have lost many family and friends to this unjust war. It is a farce war.

Heritage? Some of the oldest civilizations in the world are found the middle east and africa. Both of those areas usually have a good amount of turmoil and blood shed. Revolutions and wars? That is EVERY nation's history. How many nations are created out of revolution and war versus those created out of peace?

I don't think there is any race or group of people superior to another. It is an impossibilty. These people have obstacles in there paths that other free nations never had to face. The US's tyrant was across an ocean and the Revolution barely succeeded. A dictator inside the country? Or political party that kills all of its opponents or "sinners". They are prefectly capable of governing themselves if given chance. Until recently, they've been ignored and refused that chance by the world.

I find it funny because most of my friends think like you, judging from your responses. Markus, how old are you and what experience do you have to convince anyone that you have a clue as to what is going on in this war?.... I'm 38, 21+ years military and was a part of the initial surge to go after Saddam. I've learned much, since then, and I will continue to serve my country, as long as I am serving my country and not those who have a different agenda. That is what, I doubt, you have any true knowledge about. Do not be a drone.

No one has to listen to me. I am 18 and enrolled in the ROTC program. This is my future.
I'm sure their are lot ugly truths out there. Of course, that is life in general. But that is my opinion, I should be aligning with your opinion. Otherwise, I'm not thinking for myself.
