lol amobe, it is true that Denmark's highest mountain is around 2m above sea level, but these instructors are good. These videos give you the ideas of what to do when you go out and ski. Of course you cannot learn to ski by watching a video. That's not the purpose. It's a tool to use. Shorter me: yours is a silly comment.

what's wrong with all you downers?? they're not saying anything wrong or incorrect. this is a guide to keep certain things in mind and encourage better technique on the slopes. and, it's a well-made production. let's see if you can make a better one - post it and we'll comment. of course you can't LEARN to ski by watching a video - it just gives folks some ideas...

If you are a beginner at skiing wouldn't it be easier to do snow plough? I started off doing it and I think its a good way to start off.
Though snow plough is actually better while slowing down instead of stopping altogether. It uses far too much energy but it sort of helps gaining confidence.
If you do *parallel turn style* it doesn't make you as tired and its a quick motion you stop in a flash =] And when you do snow plough to stop you don't stop straight away unless you really dig in.

This is a good and wellpresented series for anyone learning to ski, period. Some years ago french instructors tried to ban danish instructors from their resorts, but that was only because they felt threatened by the talented and friendly danes. That may be the cause of some of the more "serious looking" bad comments from "professionals".

Superb filming but the narritive is the usual twaddle that leaves the poor novice confused...which is the real objective so that they come back for more lessons.
"Maintain an anticipatory position" how can a novice expect to understand that.

I like these videos, if have picked up a few tips from them. Yes you can learn the snow plough first and then move to parallel skiing.
