I asked you a simple question. Why do the muslim community think Iraq became the target? No i don't believe they cared about Saddam's treatment of his own people. No i don't believe it was because they thought he had WMDs. I know they created him. I know it wasn't because they desperately wanted to make Iraq a democracy. I always thought it was to secure oil reserves for the future, but that obviously doesn't pan out now. So like i said, i asked you a simple question. You misunderstood me.

Apology accepted. I do consider myself to be intelligent and i've spent a lot of time trying to figure out who stood to gain from the Iraq invasion and how. Its proving quite difficult, but then again they did fuck it up by not planning ahead properly, so maybe thats it. On the other hand, Saddam had rebelled against his former US masters. A bit like an unruly employee getting too big for his boots and refusing to do as asked anymore i suppose. They had to make an example maybe? Like gangsters?

What do you think? I wanted a muslim opinion on the puzzle, because it would come from another perspective, thats why i asked. I also agree there were far more logical targets at that time, for the war on terror. The truly ironic element of it all, is how much Iran has proffited from it all.
