Oh yeah. In football the hits are massive coz saving yards is #1 concern. Not so important in Rugby, but the big hits still happen. Check out some Brian Lima tackles (he had a few in here). He's a Samoan player, nicknamed "The Chiropractor." Not a big guy, but hits like a damned freight train. EVERY TIME!

No way, man! Football is 100% high speed collisions. It's tough man, and I've played and watched rugby for 25 years. Still, rugby kills too. Lots of broken necks, spinal cord injuries, splintered ribs and DESTROYED knees.

Balanced comment. I admire A.Football players for their monster strength and speed, but rugby players (especially NZ, Australia and South Africa nation teams) are such well rounded athletes. Aerobic fitness, balance, speed, explosive power, reading the game and brute strength are all equally important to every player on the rugby field. A.Football players OWN at their own strengths, but everyone is damn strong and pretty damn fast in rugby.
