Very good - and it should start as early as possible. Information actually decreases the "curiosity" incidents. A+
When parents start ... ( 1 year ago by angeredsmile2)
When parents start doing a better job then there would not be a need for comprehensive sex education. Abstinence works, common sense says it works. The problem is at home. I am so sick of the kids will do it anyway attitude so we might as well show them how. Sex education only made me more curious and I had a child when I was 17 so I am an example...

Why when you shouldn't have sex until you are married? More information just made me more curious.?

I don't think it's lack of education that causes STD's and teen pregnancy. I had extensive sex ed, and got pregnant at 18. Kids know how it happens, and how to prevent it, so let's not insult their intelligence. Shelby does a great job of not only insulting her intelligence, but the rest of teenage America's.
Comprehensive sex ... ( 1 year ago by SexEtc)
Comprehensive sex ed is about giving teens the information they need to make healthy choices for themselves. It's important to remember that if given age-appropriate information, teens can and will make the best decisions for themselves.

I very much agree with you Shelby. I hate how we received absolutely NO sex ed at my middle-eastern school! (I lived in the middle-east during my teenage years of life)

I sympathise with how you feel. But you have to understand, they're not saying they're going to prevent ALL teens pregnancies, just most of them.
Shelby is not ... ( 9 months ago by juliatheepic)
Shelby is not insulting the intelligence of people who get pregnant. She is standing up to those who refuse to educate children. The numbers of people who know this information will increase. Knox is not saying that pregnancy won't happen even if the education is offered; but the education with inform and save a lot of young people.
Insulting teenage America is by not educating them or treating them as if they can handle this kind of information.
Okay, how about we ... ( 9 months ago by cynicgod)
Okay, how about we stop the bickering and just accept that abstinance works, but so does protection.
I'm 15, but I'm not stupid. I know how pregnancy works. I agree with pheistychick, we shouldn't insult anyone's intelligence.
Personally, I feel that there's no need for Sex Ed, because young people learn more from movies than sex ed anyway.
However, what would you do if your 12yo daughter got pregant because she didn't know the difference between a good and bad touch?
they teach ... ( 2 months ago by xxmidnitexrainxx)
they teach abstinence programs at my school but when i look around the class i see alot of girls that are already doing it how is an abistinence program helping them? some of them aren't even using contraceptions like they should or in the proper manner; and i do agree that most that have the proper knowledge on this subject aren't having sex
