We pay taxes to pay the national debt. The IRS and income tax came in to being at the exact time as the federal reserve. That is what income taxes are for, the national debt and not for anything else. Why doesn't he say that?

Because your wrong. We don't pay taxes to PAY the National Debt. We pay taxes on the INTEREST on the National Debt. Now you see why it never goes down, only up.

The interest is part of the national debt. Without being specific, most of us do know that our money only goes to the interest because of how much there is.

The Bank of Canada was once private but the government realized it was a damning mistake and 4 years later (1938) it was made a crown corporation.
It is under the control of the Minister of Finance not some private chairman that answers to nobody.

If it wasn't for scared Senior Citizens that believe that whatever they invest in must be FDIC insured (i.e., CDs) banks would go broke. Let's see... invest in CDs that barely earn more than inflation and then have to pay taxes on that (small) interest.

Regarding that $150K home loan...you'll be paying it back in FUTURE DOLLARS, future depreciating dollars...those $150,000 are worth less tomorrow, even less next month, even more less next year...in essence you're borrowing today's MORE VALUABLE dollars and paying it back in LESS VALUABLE dollars -- how much was the average home worth 10 yrs ago or 20 yrs ago...
Me, for example, paid $91,500 in 1995 for a home worth $150K today, and as the dollar crumbles, it'll take MORE to buy in the future

That is why a little bit of inflation is good, because we can borrow money (as a country) at 3-5% and hope the inflation offsets the loan + interest. We (as a country) have never missed a payment, but we'll NEVER be able to pay it back...there's not that much currency in circulation...even all 300 million of us plus the govt plus all american banks (combined) don't have that kind of jack. We've committed over $60,000,000,000,000.00 (that's TRILLIONS baby) in future earmarks (SSN, etc) too!
