Tim may I ask why you add water to the mud? What is the properties of the mud that are altered via water (e.g. dries faster, slower, etc.)

I love the dry-setting joint compounds, but they are used when I need fast dry times and when I am working on real plaster. I have several columns about these at my website. I will do a video about them.

tim my suggestion would be to cover the fixing of a hole IE a door knob pushed through the wall ,i find this is a huge part of repair work we find on most jobs ,we have a few tricks and i would love to show them to you ,i shall try to make vid of how we do it and i would like to email it to you ,i dont want to do the vid to post on utube ,your skills infront of the cam are way better than mine hehehe , ill try to get it to you soon as possible ,oh and welcome back mate happy new yr

Tim. This is great help. I love your site and your You Tube videos.
I have been wiring new fixtures and have had to lay new drywall over the large cuts I've had to make. I am terrible putting on mud on the tape and drywall.
I can't wait to try this this mix (with H20) when I put up my new Italian track lighting this weekend and will try it with a mixer!

Hi Tim,
My only question is 'what does warm icing look like'? That is the wrong analogy for a guy like me! HaHaHa!
I would like to see you scoop some out of the bucket and into your mud tray so I can get an idea of the consistency.
