Housing prices MUST drop another 30-40% (especially in the bubble cities). When people start buying the economy will begin to recover.
People buying houses right now will only lose money. Market prices will continue to deteriorate for the next several years.
Save your cash for a nice downpayment because there will be bargains galore. Prices will bottom in 2012 and that is the time to buy.

In an interview ealier this year Schiller was asked by a CNN host what he was invested in. His response was that he owned no US stocks and was primarily in cash. In his book he thew out a question to readers "What if the stock market crashed and never came back" Yes is a scholar type economist but he personally knows just how bad things could get.
